Botnick complaint
Ms. Gere:

According to your letter of June 21, 2004, you indicated that Dr. Botnick would receive a "further response" to Mr. Barth's inquiries in January 2005 and that he could expect a supplement to CCE's prior correspondence once the accreditation process involving LUCC is completed "in early 2005."  The announcement on the CCE website is not responsive to the outstanding concerns Dr. Botnick has raised.  Please provide this information, or a timeline identifying the date by which he may expect to receive it.  Please be aware of the requirements of 34 CFR 602.23(c) with regard to accrediting agencies processing complaints in a prompt, unbiased and responsive manner.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Subject: RE: Botnick complaint

Mr. Denton,

This is in response to your email below of February 2, 2005 regarding Dr.

Botnick's complaint. As you may recall, the CCE Commission on Accreditation

sent Dr. Botnick a letter dated March 19, 2004 confirming that his complaint

regarding Life University College of Chiropractic ("LUCC") had been resolved

and that the matter was closed. On March 22, 2004, in response to a letter

dated January 30, 2004 from John Barth, CCE forwarded a copy of the March 19

Botnick letter as well as a procedural history concerning CCE's handling,

resolution and closing of Dr. Botnick's complaint consistent with CCE Policy

BOD-67.

To the extent that Dr. Botnick seeks information concerning the

status of the LUCC accreditation process, he may wish to review the

Announcement dated December 3, 2004 that is posted on CCE's website. Inter

alia, as stated in the Announcement: "Further reporting by LUCC will be

provided to the COA in Spring 2005 with a tentative Status Review Meeting in

July 2005."

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to

contact me.

    Best regards,

   Sally Gere

Ms. Gere -

Yesterday I received an inquiry from Dr. Allen Botnick regarding the status of his complaint.  I had indicated to him a few months back that he would be hearing from me by January 2005 once the Life University accreditation process is completed.  Since we are now into February, do you have any updated information that I can forward to him?  Thanks very much.
