Brian Tannebaum exclusively represents clients
in the defense of criminal cases in state and federal court and in
matters before The Florida Bar and The Florida Board of Bar Examiners.
He currently serves as President of the Miami Chapter of The Florida
Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
A former American Bar Association National Trial Champion, Mr.
Tannebaum began his career as a trial lawyer in the largest public
defender's office in the State of Florida, where he handled hundreds of
criminal cases. After entering private practice, he was elected to the
Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense
Lawyers, where he received the 2000 and 2004 President's Award. He is a
frequent lecturer, having spoken at statewide and local seminars such
as "Showcase on Sentencing," "Practicing with Professionalism," and his
own seminars entitled "The Practice," and "What Every Civil Lawyer
Needs to Know About Criminal Law."
Mr. Tannebaum includes DUI in his criminal practice, and has served
The Florida Bar as a member and Chair of the Traffic Court Rules
Committee.
His professional license practice involves defending those who find
themselves having to answer to The Florida Bar or Florida Board of Bar
Examiners. Mr. Tannebaum was appointed to a 3 year term on a Florida
Bar Grievance Committee where he learned the process by which the Bar
reprimands, suspends, and disbars lawyers. His article "The Bar
Grievance Process," was published in the statewide magazine, Florida
Defender.
In addition to his practice, Mr. Tannebaum is a legal
consultant to the CBS Drama "CSI: Miami." He was voted "Best of the
Bar" by the South Florida Business Journal and named the top 1.6%
of all Florida criminal defense attorneys by Florida Trend Magazine
three years in a row. He has also been named one of South Florida's
"Top Lawyers" two years in a row in the South Florida Legal Guide.
In 2003, The National Law Journal recognized his acquittal in US v.
Dow as one of the "Top 10 defense verdicts in the United States." He
has also appeared on Court TV, FOX's "The O-Reilly
Factor, National Public Radio, and been quoted throughout the
world on criminal cases and issues.
In addition to the Florida Bar, Mr. Tannebaum is admitted to the
United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of
Florida, the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United
States Supreme Court.

Daniel A. Weiss brings over 24 years of city, county and local government law experience to the firm.
Mr. Weiss represented the taxing authorities in administrative
matters, litigation and appeals between 1981 and 1995 as a Miami-Dade
Assistant County Attorney; served as Legal Special Master for the
Miami-Dade County Value Adjustment Board from 1999-2000, and has
represented municipalities and taxpayers in tax assessment,
classification, exemption and collection matters since 1997.
Mr. Weiss has more than 70 published opinions to his credit
including 55 property tax opinions, is co-author of Chapter 64 of
the Florida Tax Service 2d, "Agriculture and Other Classified
Properties" with Matthew Bender, and a lecturer on property taxation
for the National Business Institute.
Mr. Weiss is a board member of Miami Beach Bar Association and is
actively involved in the community as a Board Member of the Miami Beach
Community Health Center, the Douglas Gardens Hospice and the Miami
Beach Community Development Corporation. Mr. Weiss was born
in and is a lifelong resident of Miami Beach.
Ms. Ator represents both plaintiffs and defendants in commercial and employment litigation matters in state and federal court.
Ms. Ator's practices in the areas of commercial and employment
litigation including breach of contract and tort-based claims, unfair
and deceptive trade practices, non-competes, disability compliance,
discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour, employee discipline
and discharge, layoffs and down-sizing, collective bargaining,
grievance arbitration, negotiation of individual employment and
personal services agreements for employers, executives, professional
athletes, and broadcasters.
Before law school, Ms. Ator taught the Communications and Broadcast
Arts Magnet Program in the Broward County Schools. Ms. Ator started her
legal career at a nationally known individual employee rights law firm.
Thereafter, she handled employment matters for employers and
corporations at the oldest firm in Miami. Finally, before joining
Tannebaum & Weiss, Ms. Ator practiced in the litigation department
at an international law firm that was named in the top five litigation
departments in the United States.
Ms. Ator was appointed to the American Bar Association House of
Delegates by the Florida Bar Board of Governors. She also serves on the
Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors and on the
Florida Bar Annual Meeting Committee. In addition, Ms. Ator is the
immediate past president of the Dade County Bar Association Young
Lawyers Section.
Ms. Ator has written and published on employment law topics. Her law
review article Same-Sex Sexual Harassment After Oncale v. Sundowner
Offshore Services, Inc.: Overcoming the History of Judicial
Discrimination in Light of the "Common Sense" Standard was published in
the American University Journal of Gender & Law in 1998. Moreover,
she has co-authored materials on sexual harassment and damages in
discrimination claims for the American Bar Association Labor and
Employment Section.
In addition to the Florida Bar, Ms. Ator is admitted to the United
States District Court for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts
of Florida and the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Appeals.
