For the Dogs: Childrens Book Author To Visit Los Angeles this July

Barbara Cohen, author of the popular children's book "Forever Friends," visits Los Angeles this July in support of the soft-cover release of this children's classic.

LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) June 10, 2004 - Childrens book author Barbara Cohen, creator of the popular picture book "Forever Friends," (ISBN # 1-931290-54-7, smallfellow press) will be making appearances at schools, libraries and bookstores around Los Angeles and Pasadena this July in support of the soft-cover edition of her popular story about the companionship between a dog and his boy.

Two events will be open to the public. The first, at 7:00 p.m. on July 9, is a reading of "Forever Friends" at the Pajamarama Storytime at the Barnes & Noble in Torrance, California. The second is a reading at the Storyopolis childrens bookstore at 1:00 p.m. on July 10. After the reading and signing, children will be allowed to read to and play with animals courtesy of the non-profit organization Kids-n-Pets, a group that teaches children positive life skills through the humane training of pets. Cohen will also appear at a number of school and library summer programs throughout the metropolitan area, including the Barks & Books program at the Pasadena Public Library. Barks & Books is committed to giving children the opportunity to practice reading aloud to friendly, furry listeners who wont criticize their efforts.
